Space Capsule Cabin Export to the USA
Bentlee delivered a fully furnished, glass-fronted space capsule cabin from Dongguan, China to a US port through a tailored OOG logistics plan that covered on-site measurement, Flat Rack loading, cargo securing, port coordination and ocean freight management.
About This Project
A Chinese manufacturer of premium space capsule cabins planned to export a fully finished unit to the United States for use in a boutique glamping and vacation rental project. Because the cabin was oversized, high in value, and already fitted with glass panels, lighting, interior finishes and built-in systems, the shipment required far more than standard container booking.
The client needed a logistics partner that could evaluate dimensions on site, design a safe loading plan, arrange the right equipment, and control every transport step from factory pickup to port departure.

The Challenge
This shipment could not be treated like ordinary cargo. The space capsule cabin exceeded standard container dimensions, which meant the transport plan had to consider out-of-gauge limitations from the very beginning. In addition, the cargo was already finished inside, with glass surfaces, decorative materials and installed systems that could be affected by vibration, moisture, impact or poor load distribution.
Transporting a completed modular cabin to the USA also required close coordination between factory handling, road transport, container loading, lashing design, port operations and ocean shipping schedules. Any mistake during lifting, securing or route planning could lead to cosmetic damage, structural stress or expensive delays.
Bentlee's Solution
Bentlee started with an on-site cargo assessment at the factory. Our team checked the cargo dimensions, lifting points, weight distribution, exterior protection requirements and loading restrictions before selecting the most suitable OOG transport method. Based on the cargo profile, we proposed a Flat Rack shipping solution combined with a customized securing and protection plan.
To reduce risk during handling and sea transport, we prepared a detailed loading concept that focused on stability, center-of-gravity control and surface protection. Anti-vibration padding, protective wrapping and reinforced lashing points were used to keep the unit stable throughout inland transport and ocean transit. We also coordinated trailer arrangement, factory loading, port entry timing and vessel booking to keep the shipment moving efficiently.
How the Shipment Was Executed
Factory Measurement and Cargo Review
We inspected the space capsule cabin at the manufacturing site to verify actual dimensions, identify fragile areas and confirm how the unit should be lifted and supported.
OOG Equipment Planning
We selected a Flat Rack container as the most suitable export solution and arranged the appropriate inland transport equipment for the oversized unit.
Protective Packing and Lashing
We protected exposed and fragile areas, especially around finished exterior sections, and secured the cargo using a customized lashing plan designed for stability and safe transit.
Port Coordination and Export Handling
We arranged delivery timing, cargo handling coordination and shipment planning to reduce waiting time and minimize unnecessary cargo movement at the port.
Ocean Freight to the USA
The cargo was shipped according to plan and maintained in good condition throughout the export process, allowing the client to continue with destination delivery and installation scheduling.

Project Result
The space capsule cabin was delivered for export in a controlled and secure manner, with the cargo condition protected throughout the process. By combining proper equipment, careful securing and advance planning, Bentlee helped the client reduce transport risk and keep the US project timeline moving.
This case demonstrates how oversized modular cabins can be exported from China to the USA safely when the logistics plan is built around the actual cargo condition rather than a generic shipping template. It also shows why OOG logistics experience is essential for space capsule cabin projects intended for glamping resorts, vacation rentals and other hospitality developments.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Space capsule cabins can be exported from China to the USA, but because many units exceed standard container dimensions, the shipment often requires an OOG logistics solution with proper equipment selection, cargo securing and port coordination.
In many cases, a Flat Rack container is a practical option because it can accommodate oversized cargo that does not fit inside a standard dry container. The final choice still depends on the actual dimensions, weight and loading requirements of the unit.
A finished capsule cabin may already include glass panels, decorative finishes, lighting systems and built-in components. Without proper protection and lashing, the cargo can be affected by vibration, impact, moisture or shifting during transport.
The biggest challenge is usually the combination of oversized dimensions, fragile finished surfaces and the need to coordinate factory loading, inland transport, port handling and ocean freight without damaging the unit.
Yes. Bentlee supports oversized cargo projects with services such as on-site cargo measurement, transport planning, equipment selection, lashing and securing, port coordination and export logistics execution.
